This is the one thing I don't like about pregnancy (actually there are many)... the clothes. I'm at the stage where I no longer fit my regular jeans. Last pregnancy, I was able to wear 1 size bigger and not turn to maternity clothes until 7 months... But this time, I dug out my big jeans and they still don't fit! I had to resort to my bag of stored maternity clothes.A gf of mine who gave birth 7 months ago also let me pick and choose from her stash.
Monday April 23 was the first day I put on maternity jeans. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant. If I remember correctly, I didn't get to that stage until 28 weeks last time around.
This weekend, I will start storing away my regular clothes, since I might not be able to fit into them again for another year or so. They will be missed. :-(

I remember that stage well!
Since it's summer you could also try to wear sun dresses. I did that when I was preg. in the summer.
I am there with ya! I swim in my maternity top also. The great thing is that those baby doll tops and dresses are making a come back this year. I see them at Old Navy so maybe you can try those instead.
Awww, I'm sorry! I hate the awkward stage. Wow, you must have been so skinny during your first pg. I was in maternity clothes by 13-14 weeks (at least pants) for this pregnancy, and it's my first! Although people weren't able to tell that I was pregnant until almost 6 months along, I couldn't button up my regular pants. I guess they were pretty snug before -- I wore a 2 or 4, depending on the store -- and I was so bloated they wouldn't pull up.
I still don't have the full-on panel maternity clothes though. All my of fave maternity clothes have come from Gap or Old Navy. They sell those waistbands that look like real waistbands, or just have a demi panel, or sit below the belly. I confess that I actually really love my maternity wardrobe -- but then again I love any excuse to buy new clothes! And I agree with asiangarden -- dresses (and skirts) are the best. I have lived in them.
Thank you for your comment on my Xanga. Maybe I'll just get comfy sports bras instead. My regular bras all have underwire and since I'll be at home, I'd just like something comfy to wear that's not too restrictive. The nursing bras my mom brought me from Taiwan are really comfy -- I'm really looking for something like that. They're like a sports bra with buttons down the middle. Also thanks for your advice about Lansinoh. I'm glad to hear you didn't need it too much. I'm very leery of ointments and lotions!
Hey there! The Bradley Method is apparently the second most popular method of childbirth class (after Lamaze), but before I was pregnant I'd never heard of it either. Two of my friends who've given birth recommended it to me. You can check it out here:

Basically, it is similar to Lamaze but (according to my friends) better prepares you for a longer labor, without medication. Now, my two friends ended up taking epidurals before the pushing phase, but they said it helped them deal with the contractions up to that point. I am trying to keep things as natural as possible, but I reserve the right to ask for an epidural at any point! :) I'm not expecting it to really prepare me for labor, but I am such the type of person who adores classes, I couldn't pass it up. :) Really I want to meet some other preggos in my area and maybe make some mommy friends so I can make playdates for the baby after he comes out.
Aww, I'm sorry your baby is kicking so much! I only love my baby's kicks because it seems like he is so quiet. Anytime he moves, I breathe a sigh of relief (even though the doctor tells me his level of activity is normal) -- maybe he's just a lazy baby?
I am sure it's hard to juggle a toddler with a new pregnancy. I don't think I'll be as strong as you when the time comes. I'll be complaining ALL THE TIME the second time around!
Sorry you have to work all weekend. :(
